Dress Code:
First Penance and Reconciliation
Students should dress as they would for Sunday Mass.
Girls may wear a dress or a skirt or dress pants with a nice blouse or sweater. If they wear leggings, please be sure there is another layer covering to knee length. Tops or sweaters should cover shoulders.
Boys may wear dress pants (no jeans please) with a nice shirt. It is preferable that a shirt has a collar, but a nice sweater would also be appropriate. Ties and bow ties are not required.
First Communion
Girls
- White dress (please try to find one that is not sleeveless or add sleeves if you are able; a sleeveless dress can also be remedied with a ) Watch the length of the dress – children need to walk up the aisle comfortably!
- Veil (A wreath of flowers is fine; watch for the possible problem of sitting on a veil that is too long! You may want to practice sitting with a veil, as sitting back on it may tug it off the )
- Shoes (White; try to find something comfortable and sturdy enough for a long walk up the aisle!)
- Purses and Mass missals, if brought to Mass, should be left in the pew and not carried in the entrance procession. If brought to Mass, please discuss how to keep them from being a
Boys
- Dress pants (any color)
- White dress shirt (long or short sleeves)
- Tie (regular tie or bow tie; make sure the child is comfortable with the style and the )
- Jacket, coat, or vest not (If worn, be sure they are comfortable and not too warm.)
- Dress shoes (not tennis shoes)
- Mass Missal, if brought to Mass, should be left in the pew and not carried in the entrance procession. If brought to Mass, please discuss how to keep them from being a distraction.
